Week 5&6

Paper Model  This paper model is made in the scale of 1:10, 37cm X 31cm X 27cm. Due to the thickness of the paper, it can't hold the shape properly, which shown in the photo. I find paper is easier to cut and fold, compare to the cardboard model.  Cardboard Model  This cardboard model is made out of watercolour paper which has a thicker thickness compared to paper, and the shape is more structured. Also, I have reduced the scale down to 1:20, due to the size of watercolour paper I have available, which I found it's easier to work with as well. But folding the edges of the watercolour paper was difficult.  Paper Folding Architecture  In this paper folding task, I have incorporated 3 techniques, the masu box, crumpling and v-pleats. I have used a larger size masu box as the floor and added different texture of folding to build the walls and extend it out.
